Committee Application

Committee Member Application:

AMP committees are led by and comprised of member volunteers. Each committee performs designated activities to further the mission of AMP under the oversight of the AMP Council. Members of any committee will be appointed by the Immediate Past President of the AMP and approved by the Council.  The term is two years. 

How to Join a Committee:

  • Must have a current AMP membership; and
  • Complete the form below and upload a current CV or Bio.  

AMP Committees: 

Membership Committee: *The Membership Committee is responsible for developing strategies to increase AMP membership with students, physicians and other healthcare providers who are likely to advance the overall mission of the AMP.

Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) Committee: *The Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Committee promotes diversity, equity, and inclusion activities relevant to the medicine/psychiatry interface. The Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Committee facilitates connections between different AMP members.

Early Career Physicians (ECP) Committee: *The ECP Committee recruits ECP members who have an interest in the interface between medicine and psychiatry to be active AMP Members.  They also reach out to new and established AMP ECP Members and determine how AMP can best meet their professional needs. 

Medical Student Affairs Committee: *The Medial Student Affairs Committee recruits students who have an interest in the interface between medicine and psychiatry to be active AMP medical students. The committee also reaches out to new and established AMP medical students and determines how AMP can best meet their professional needs. 

Outreach and Advocacy Committee: *Serves as an AMP representative to other organized medical organizations.  Promotes and advocates for Internal Medicine/Psychiatry (IMP) and Family Medicine /Psychiatry (FMP) residency programs and integrated practice. 

Research and Scholarly Activity Committee: *The Research and Scholarly Activity Committee promotes and produces research and scholarly work in areas that interface general medicine and psychiatry.  Collaborates with the AMP Council and AMP Members to develop AMP-sponsored scientific publications and presentations.

Communications Committee: *The Communications Committee develops strategies to communicate with members and the public, including overseeing the execution of the website and other technology.  The committee also develops and oversees the membership newsletter.

Annual Meeting Committee : *The Annual Meeting Committee plans and hosts the organization's Annual Scientific Meeting.  The committee also coordinates with the Executive Director to plan and lead the regularly scheduled conference calls.

Global Health Committee : *The Global Health Committee promotes global health activities relevant to the medicine/psychiatry interface.  The Global Health Committee facilitates connections between different AMP members working in global health.
