AMP Webinar Series: "Is it our job to motivate our patients and are patients “non-compliant”?"

Please join the Association of Medicine and Psychiatry for this installment of our AMP Webinar Series: "Is it our job to motivate our patients and are patients “non-compliant”?"

Summary:

It can sometimes be frustrating and even demoralizing for patients and their doctors to navigate a state of perceived motivation or decreased motivation. Doctors may struggle with the idea of “non-compliance” to a treatment plan and advice given may not be effective. This learning session provides an opportunity to discuss various thoughts on this topic while providing an overview on practical approaches to both the assessment and co-management of decreased motivation on the part of the patient.

Objectives:

  1. Learn how best to asses motivation among your patients
  2. Review best approaches to motivate your patient, without actually motivating them
  3. Summarized and discuss the idea of “non-compliance” in the practice of medicine
