AMP Committees

Annual Meeting Planning

The Annual Meeting Planning Committee oversees the planning for the Annual AMP CME meeting, working closely with the Executive Director and Event Planner to secure the venue and speakers, holding frequent planning meetings. Learn more about the Annual Meeting Planning Committee


Communications

Develop strategies to communicate with members and the public, including overseeing the execution of the website and other technology. Work with the Executive Director to publish the quarterly newsletter, The Update.


Diversity, Equity and Inclusion

The Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee promotes diversity, equity, and inclusion activities relevant at the medicine/psychiatry interface. The Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee facilitates connections between different AMP members.


Early Career Physicians (ECP)

The ECP Committee recruits physicians in their first five (5) years post-residency, who have an interest in the interface between medicine and psychiatry to be active AMP Members. The committee works with the Membership Committee to transition graduating resident members (and non-members) to ECP membership status within the Association. They reach out to new and established ECP AMP Members to determine how AMP can best meet their professional needs. Global Health

The Global Health Committee promotes global health activities relevant at the medicine/psychiatry interface. The Committee facilitates connections between different AMP members working in global health. Learn more about the Global Health Committee.


Medical Student Affairs

The Medical Student Affairs Committee recruits students who have an interest in the interface between medicine and psychiatry to be active AMP medical students. The committee also reaches out to new and established AMP medical students to determine how AMP can best meet their professional needs. The committee also works closely with the Resident Fellow Member (RFM) Committee to produce virtual quarterly Medical Student Mentoring Sessions. Membership

The Membership Committee develops strategies to increase AMP membership with students, physicians, and other healthcare providers who are likely to advance the overall mission of the AMP. The Membership Committee shall establish, periodically review and, as necessary, modify criteria for membership in the AMP. The Membership Committee will, on an annual basis and in consultation with the Council, select recipients for the Association’s awards. Learn more about the Membership Committee.


Outreach and Advocacy

The Outreach and Advocacy Committee serves as an AMP representative to other organized medical organizations. Promote and advocate for Internal Medicine / Psychiatry (IMP) and Family Medicine / Psychiatry (FMP) residency programs and integrated practice. Program Directors Committee

The Program Director’s Committee advocates for combined IM-Psych and FM-Psych residency programs. Maintains a database of combined IM-Psych and FM-Psych Program Directors. Fosters collaboration amongst combined training programs for best practices, including core curriculum. Improve diversity and inclusion in recruitment to combined residencies, increases medical student awareness of combined residencies.


Resident Fellow Member (RFM)

The RFM Committee recruits and maintains residents and fellows interested in the interface between medicine and psychiatry as active AMP Members. They work with the Membership Committee to aid in the transition of graduating RFM (and non-members) to ECP membership status within the Association. Research & Scholarly Activity

The Research and Scholarly Activity Committee promotes and produces research and scholarly work in areas that interface general medicine and psychiatry. The committee collaborates with the AMP Council and AMP Members to develop organization-sponsored scientific publications and presentations.
