As members of the Association of Medicine and Psychiatry, we are acutely aware of the need to provide safe, comprehensive, and compassionate care to patients experiencing comorbid medical and psychiatric conditions. The development of medical psychiatric units represents one approach to address this common issue, but a lack of clear guidelines about what physically constitutes a medical psychiatry unit presents a barrier.
The AMP, along with the Sextant Foundation and the Facility Guidelines Institute, invites you to collaborate with other healthcare professionals and our colleagues in healthcare design to inform the development of the definitive environmental guidelines for medicine psychiatry units.
The Reimagining Medical Psychiatry Units project is a two-part workshop. Workshop attendees are strongly encouraged to participate in both sessions.
Day 1: September 11th, 9am - 1:30pm CST via Zoom
Day 2: October 3rd, 8am - 12pm CST in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, at the Hyatt Regency immediately prior to the start of the AMP Annual Meeting.
