Join  Dr. Elizabeth Beckman for a review of Perinatal Psychiatry Cases.

Objectives:

  • Review several diagnoses relevant to the perinatal period (obsessive-compulsive disorders, bipolar disorders, psychotic disorders, trauma-related disorders, attention-deficit hyperactivity disorders)
  • Discuss recent updates to the treatment literature
  • Review resources available to support your practice at the point-of-care

Dr. Elizabeth Beckman:
Dr. Beckman is a board-certified family physician and psychiatrist, with a strong focus on integrated care. 

Originally from northern Minnesota, Dr. Beckman received her Bachelor of Arts degree in neuroscience from Lawrence University, then worked as a mental health practitioner in a psychiatric crisis residence before attending medical school at the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities. She completed residency training at the University of Cincinnati/The Christ Hospital combined family medicine-psychiatry program.

Currently working at Denver Health in Denver, Colorado, Dr. Beckman provides integrated psychiatric care in both OBGYN and primary care clinics, as well as primary care, and is the director of the Denver Health pelvic health program. Dr. Beckman enjoys partnering with patients at transition points in the lifespan, including premenstrual disorders, pregnancy, menopause, and older age. Dr. Beckman is known for a warm and compassionate demeanor, coupled with a genuine curiosity about each patient's unique experience, bringing a holistic approach to mental health.Dr. Beckman emphasizes the interconnectedness of physical and emotional well-being, often working with patients to differentiate distress and the human condition from disease and pathology.
