We put new, more efficient models of care into practice, allowing our 7,500 employees and 850 physicians to focus on what’s important: providing compassionate health care that puts the patient and their needs first. With 14 clinics, home care, a medical transportation center, and four hospitals – Bethesda Hospital, St. John’s Hospital, St. Joseph’s Hospital, and Woodwinds Health Campus – we provide excellent family health and specialization, including primary, maternity, orthopaedics and post-acute care.
Founded by the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet in 1853, HealthEast St. Joseph’s Hospital in downtown St. Paul is proud to hold the distinction as Minnesota’s first hospital. Although much has changed in health care since the hospital’s early days, the practice of providing high quality, compassionate care remains constant. Today, the hospital offers a broad range of specialty programs: HealthEast CyberKnife Center, HealthEast Bariatric Care, HealthEast Heart Care and HealthEast Kidney Stone Institute. From technology to education, family support and spirituality to community outreach, our commitment ensures you’ll always receive high quality, compassionate care. The hospital is a member of the University of Minnesota’s Family Medicine and Community Health residency program and is Medicare certified, and St. Joseph’s boasts a lower Caesarean section rate than almost any other hospital in the country.
